About Moharli Gate

Moharli Gate is the oldest, most established, and most popular safari entry point into the core zone of Tadoba Andhari National Park. Located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, the gate sits approximately 32 km from Chandrapur town and around 140 km (approx 2.5 hours drive) from Nagpur. It has served as the primary gateway to Tadoba's tiger heartland for decades.

The Moharli range covers the central portion of the park, encompassing the famous Tadoba Lake, multiple seasonal waterholes (called "kholas"), and key tiger territories including the legendary ranges of tigers like Maya and her lineage. The terrain is characterised by dense teak forests interspersed with meadows and rocky outcrops — perfect habitat for tigers and their prey.

Infrastructure at Moharli is well-developed with a modern entry plaza, rest facilities, trained naturalists, and a fleet of park-registered jeeps and drivers. The Forest Department manages strict vehicle limits per session to preserve the forest's integrity and ensure quality wildlife encounters.
